Nice review. I love my GTS but the GTV woudl be a close runner up. Agree with ShooterJoe. The GTV is supposed to be their “flag ship model” and it is beautiful but to share details with the ET line (Vespas ugliest models imo) is just lazy on Vespas Part. They could have put something not so “plastic” looking in the place of the reflectors.

Awesome Scooter, but for all that money they should’ve gotten rid of the god awful front reflectors and re-design them. I have a way cheaper ET2 and it got the exact same fugly reflectors.

Well allowing for inflation, a $900 bike in 1972 would cost you $4582.50 in 2008 (according to one inflation calculator I used).

Also, what cost $1900 in 1972 (the CB 750) would cost $9674.17 in 2008.

Still, I do agree that it’s a bit over priced… Buying “used” is a much better value here.

A 1972 Honda CB 350 twin cylinder With electric start motorcycle sold for under $900.00 and could hit close to 90 MPH stuff your overprice Vespa. A CB 750 Honda four cylinders still sold for under $1.900 in 1972

    Get a real Vespa!

You only need a M1 license, but by taking a safety course you can get an M2 and cheaper insurance as well as other restrictions dropped.

-A subcompact cannot perform or maneuver the way a GTS/GTV can
-It’s like saying “Why buy a Ferrari when I can get a Hyundai for cheaper”. You get what you pay for
-I trust THIS bike to go 80mph down the highway and still keep control. I don’t trust a Hyundai Accent to do that
    -75mpg.
-Cutting in and out of traffic at 55mph on a Vespa is FAR more fun and rewarding than in a shitbox car with tinny speakers
    -Chicks DO dig it!
-At least this doesn’t have hideous wings and fartcan exhausts

  9. N1nts says:

yes i agree with weegie, why do vespa not do more colours? the gtv would look nice in black, white ,silver. i noticed they don’t do it in dark grey anymore,i just checked out their websight, they only do it in pale green and a very very gay looking pinky cream colour! i had the money ready, but with only these two colours to choose from vespa can eat my shit for breakfast.

  11. professorweegie says:

you cant buy it in this colour any more, only pale green and light cream, very girlie looking! why don’t they do this model in other colours? put me right off buying one. sorry

    lol +1

  13. ihemflooy says:

Not everyone is in the market for a shitbox or ’subcompact’ as you lot put it.

  14. skulldrill says:

Overpriced for that you could get a decent used subcompact car. Vespa is VAIN. So vain in fact that it will NEVER get my business.
